I completed my first coaching qualification back in 2003 in Neuro Linguistic Programming, and I’ve been undertaking coaching in a work context ever since. In 2017 I took a year off work, travelling for a year, undertaking coaching throughout my journey, and on my return set up SimplicityFirst to reach a wider group of people who would benefit from accessing coaching.
I’ve regularly used coaches myself at work and in my daily life to pinpoint everything from what will bring me joy, to how to get a promotion, to how to clear my mind of clutter and even completely changing career and life focus. I cannot overstate how much easier I found things with a coach to help, even when I thought I knew what to do and how. And I genuinely believe you can get the same benefits.
I’ve been blessed to work in human-centred and ethical organisations delivering impactful services, surrounded by incredible individuals. I’ve led teams delivering strategy, governance, service design, performance improvement, project work and customer insight. And in all these roles, the ability to coach and influence has been key to my success and enjoyment of the role.
As well as running SimplicityFirst, I am a Simplicity Consultant for charities and businesses across the UK and Internationally as Accord Services, work part-time pro bono as Chief Strategy Officer for an Environmental Charity, am trustee for two other charities and offer small business advisory services for new Women/BAME-owned businesses. I am lucky enough to get to do all the things I love as a result of the work I did with my coaches on defining my very unique set of goals.
